Active Server Pages When creating new sites we develop ASP.NET web applications in Visual Studio. .NET speeds development and has numerous advantages over the 'original' ASP in terms of performance, reliability, debugging etc. However, there is nothing wrong with ASP and the number of attractive and reliable ASP applications on the web is testament to this. Most web applications have a database 'back-end'. MS Access is OK for quieter sites but most will benefit (sooner or later) from the more powerful SQL Server backend. We can offer various licensing solutions for SQL Server including the free 'Express' license. One other technology is worth a mention in this context - VB web class applications. This was a Visual Basic version 6 alternative to ASP pages. It wasn't widely used but was an effective development platform.
